Introduction to SPSS

Dr. John Zhang
Associate Professor
Mathematics Department
IUP

This is the first of a two-workshop series on using SPSS in an elementary statistics course (e.g. MATH217). MINITAB will not be available starting the fall semester of 2003. SPSS will be the statistical software of choice for these courses (if an instructor wants to use a statistical package). This workshop will introduce some basics in SPSS. We will focus on presenting the statistics and procedures that are relevant to an elementary statistics course.

Dr. John Zhang
Associate Professor

This is the second of a two-workshop series on using SPSS in an elementary statistics course. This workshop will present some of my examples on incorporating SPSS into the teaching of MATH 217. The presentation will include an introduction of the "workshop approach" to teaching MATH 217. Many SPSS examples with the workshop approach will follow. Some videos that depict how to use SPSS for specific activities, created by Camtacia, will be given.
