Position In Mathematics
Position: Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track
position in mathematics to begin in the Fall of 2005. Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor
level. The Mathematics Department places a high priority upon teaching excellence and
expects faculty to be professionally active.
Responsibilities: Teach 12 semester hours of undergraduate and graduate
courses per semester. Duties include advising students, serving on faculty committees, participating
in academic and professional activities of the department, university, and discipline, and continuing
scholarly activity.
Required Qualifications: PhD in a field of mathematics by
September 2005 or near completion.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in teaching undergraduate
mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialty in analysis.
In order to become a finalist, candidates must communicate effectively
and perform well during the interviews. A presentation of research
and/or a classroom topic will be required. A candidate must be work
eligible.
