Position In Statistics
Position: Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track position
in Statistics to begin in the fall of 2008. Appointments are anticipated at the Assistant Professor level
with the possibility of Associate Professor level for an individual with exceptional qualifications.
The University places a high priority upon teaching excellence and expects faculty to be professionally
active.
Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate and graduate courses with emphasis on
courses in Statistics. (The normal course load is 12 hours per semester.) To provide leadership in the
Statistics component of the Mathematics Department curriculum. To supervise students in graduate
internship programs and to direct Masters theses. To continue scholarly growth. To participate in
university, college, and department service.
Required Qualifications: Ph. D. in Statistics or in a mathematical area with emphasis in
Statistics required at time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching and/or field experience. Experience using Statistics software.
Candidates must communicate effectively
and perform well during the interviews. A presentation of research
and/or a teaching demonstration will be required. All applicants must be work
eligible.
