Barry Day Freshman Scholarship for Mathematics

The purpose of this scholarship is to recruit and recognize students who show potential for further study in the field of mathematics and to provide incentive for them to enroll at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

The Barry Day Freshman Scholarship for Mathematics shall provide financial assistance to talented and deserving students who best meet the following critieria:

  1. Must be admitted as a full-time freshman student in Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
  2. Must be admitted with a declared major in a program offered by the Department of Mathematics (Applied Mathematics, Mathematics/Economics, Secondary Mathematics Education).
  3. Eligible students must have an SAT Mathematics score of at least 650 and be in the top 20 percent of their high school graduating class.

The amount of the award will be determined annually based on the available funds and the number of qualified students. The scholarship award shall be applied directly to the students' tuition account for the fall semester of thie freshman year.
