You will need to use a graphing calculator or computer program for some homework assignments, but not for the quizzes and tests.  See the class Web site for a free Web-based graphing utility.

 

Grading

Tests (July 14, July 17, July 24, July 31)                                      60%

Quizzes (July 9, July 15, July 22, July 29, August 5)                   15%

Final Exam (August 7)                                                                  25%

 

The lowest quiz grade will be dropped.

 

Extra Credit: At the beginning of each class period, list up to three of the previous day’s homework problems on the board that you could not get.  You can put the solution to another student’s problem on the board and explain it to the rest of the class for one test point extra credit.

        90-100           A

        80-89             B

        65-79             C

        55-64             D

        Below 55       F

 

Attendance

The instructor will not take attendance; however, students are expected to attend each class.  If a student wishes to make up a test or quiz because of illness or a personal emergency, the student must receive approval from the instructor before the regularly scheduled test or quiz.
