MATH 685 Topics in Statistical Methods
Credits: 3This variable content course is designed for the student who has knowledge of basic statistical principles including analysis of variance and covariance, regression, and nonparametric statistics. Advanced, innovative, or exploratory topics in applied statistics will be introduced. Content will vary according to the interests of the instructor and students
Pre-requisites:
(MATH 661 Minimum Grade: C or MA 661 Minimum Grade: C) and (MATH 663 Minimum Grade: C or MA 663 Minimum Grade: C) and (MATH 665 Minimum Grade: C or MA 665 Minimum Grade: C)

The components of your grade may include required homework assignments, optional assignments, quizzes, tests, project reports and presentations, and a final examination.
Your grade will be computed by finding the percentage of points you earn in the course out of the number of points available to you in the course through required and optional work.
Grade Percentage range A 90% to 100% Advanced understanding of the course material B 75% to 90% Basic understanding of the course material C 60% to 75% Concern about your understanding of the course material F 0% to 60% Deficient understanding of the course material
You are expected to attend all class meetings, including the final presentations. If you miss a class, turn in any assignments that were due as soon as possible.
Grades for assignments turned in late will be penalized, with an increasing penalty as time passes beyond the due date, unless an approved excuse is provided to the instructor.
Make-up assignments must be arranged on a case-by-case basis, and will be approved only with a legitimate excuse.
